Jimmy Nguyen’s journey to founding EZ Football Prep started the same way many great football stories do—under the Friday night lights. A dedicated coach in New Canaan, Connecticut, Jimmy had always believed in the little things. Whether it was perfecting a blocking scheme or finding just the right words to fire up his team, details mattered. But one detail kept getting overlooked: the football itself.
As a husband, father, and lifelong student of the game, Jimmy knew that a properly prepped football—mudded, conditioned, and game-ready—wasn’t just a luxury, it was a necessity. He’d spent countless hours on the sidelines breaking in balls by hand, perfecting a process that would give his players the best feel, grip, and performance possible.
It wasn’t long before other coaches started noticing the difference—and asking if Jimmy could do the same for them. That’s when EZ Football Prep was born. What started in a garage in New Canaan quickly grew into a trusted prep company serving teams at all levels. Jimmy brought his same coaching precision and care into every ball that left the shop, treating each one like it was meant for the state championship.
Today, EZ Football Prep continues to help teams across the country get their footballs game-ready the right way—because when the ball feels right, everything else falls into place.

The Process
At EZ Football Prep, every football goes through a meticulous multi-step process to ensure it’s game-ready. We start by carefully mudding each ball to break down the factory gloss, creating a surface that enhances grip and feel. From there, the ball is conditioned and brushed multiple times to open up the leather and bring out that deep, tacky texture quarterbacks and receivers love. The result? A ball that feels broken in from day one—ready for crisp spirals, secure handoffs, and big-time plays.
